Arguments and Fighting

Arguments will get us nowhere other than hurting one another with our words. Arguments break up family members who are close. Arguments turn friends into foes. There is no reason to argue to the point where we just want to hurt one another. There is other ways to get a point across. If one did something that another did not like there is no reason to argue or fight. We can just sit down and talk it out. If you did not do something that another say you did then you can just sit down and tell them that you did not do the action that the person have put on you with his or her words. You can just tell them your proofs or reasons why his or her words are not true. Arguments lead to fights which get us nowhere but more misunderstanding and pains. If we think before jumping into conclusion and starts raising our fist or voice there will be less misunderstanding, pains, and fights. Scientists show that we are all brothers and sisters after all so why are we trying to hurt one another?

Missing and Fights

When we are with the ones we love we end up getting tired of them and start to argue but once we do not get to see them for a very long time we miss them. This is exactly what happens on Thanksgiving, my family came all the way from all over to meet up at my uncle's house where it is a lot bigger than mine; we have a very large family. On that day everyone brought their own food to the feast, from fried rice, to turkey, to dessert. I was to make the mash potatoes and sugar cookies shape like turkeys, Indians, and Pilgrims. At first everyone was happy to see each other and had no idea why they move so far away from each other. Once the game starts one of my uncles starts to argue with his brother about cheating on the games. This was before we even got to eat. After a while after my Uncle Loin stop my two uncles we all sat down to pray and eat. Then just because both of my grandpas have left my uncles argue about who should cut the turkey. It was a total chaos. Then my grandma stood up and said my oldest uncle would cut the turkey. After the feast, we get together to hear my grandmothers tell stories. While my grandmother from my mom's side was telling the story, one of my uncles from my dad's side got into an argument with my other uncle from my mom's side. Their argument made everyone tired so everyone gave kisses, hugs, and goodbye wishes to my grandmothers and thanked my uncle who is the owner of the house for his hose and we all left family by family. If we do not get to see one another for a very long time we miss each other but when we get together we step on each other toes.

Discerning Pancreatic Cancer from Pancreatitis

http://www.sciencenews.org/view/generic/id/50071/title/Discerning_pancreatic_cancer_from_pancreatitis

Scientists and doctors are working very hard to find ways to get rid of cancer for good, but with mistaken cancer's sign by another sign of damage tissues can really cause patient to be in danger then they really are in. This is support that if we are not careful more people can get hurt. Even though it is dangerous but without taking risk we will get nowhere near the cure. Lots of our accomplishments are from taken risks, like from making airplanes to finding cures. This go with the saying "nothing venture nothing gain." A little lump and be mistaken as a tumor but in reality it is something else. If the doctors and scientists did not take the risks of messing with the lump they will not know what that lump really is pancreatitis. They are a far way from identifying it more accurate but this is one step forward to the success of identifying it more accurate.

A Crazy Story

This is true.

Just the other day my uncle came up to my house to tell my mother and I about how his beloved wife turn her back on him after all he has done for her. He has helped her to come over here to America from Vietnam and also her parents. He was doing paper works for her twin brothers to come over here when the whole thing begins to fall apart. It all started when he did his paper work for her to come over here to America. She came over by herself with my uncle since they are married. At first everything was fine. He loved her very deeply. She seems to be a very nice person to everyone in the family from my grandparents to my uncles and to me and my siblings. My uncle paid for her to study to get her nail license. He also helped her get her citizenship. After her citizenship, my uncle helped her fill out paper to bring her parents over here to America. After about a few months after the paper was done, which was about eight years since their marriage, my aunt finally gave birth to their first born daughter. My uncle was very please. He is around thirty years old and now he finally has his first child. Right after the child was born, my aunt's mother made my aunt tell my uncle to sleep by himself. And she goes sleep with the baby and her mother. They did not allow my uncle to see my aunt or his own child. My uncle did not give that much attention even though he wanted to be around his own child and wife. He even looked for a job for my aunt's father. My uncle drives my aunt's father from home to work and back again. If one day my uncle is late when he gets home both his wife and her mother yelled at him asking why was he late and let my aunt's father took the bus home. My uncle just told them that he was running late because he has too much costumers to leave and pick up my aunt's father. Plus, he is in America now he should know how to use the transportation just in case there is a day like that time where my uncle cannot pick him up. About three days after the argument my uncle came home and found everything that belongs to the baby, my aunt, and her parents was gone. No one was in the house. He called my aunt's cell over and over again but she did not answer. About two or three weeks later, my aunt called my uncle and told him that a police has pulled her over on the highway going to Texas because her license plate was out of date. She told him to come and get her, her parents, and their baby. After that incident in the house it was very quiet. My aunt and her parents act like as though my uncle does not exist. They eat together as a family and ignore him. He has to sleep alone in his room which use to be both his and my aunt's. Where ever they go they did not tell or ask my uncle to come with them. About a few weeks later, my uncle has a day off and he was sitting in the couch in the front room, when my aunt's parents and my aunt gather their things and started to put into the car. My uncle was surprised. He asked them what was going on, but they did not answer him. They acted as though he is just part of the wall. They took everything that belongs to them and the baby and they took off again. My uncle was heartbroken. Then a few weeks later after my uncle called my aunt several times she finally answer and told him why she left. She said that the reason why was because he did not respect her parents. He then asked her did her parents respect him. He was the one who helped them to come over here and was the one who own the house. He brought the cars that they took off with. He was the one who run here and there to help them get their driver license and nail license, and yet, they did not show him any respect. He cannot say a word in his own house. He cannot sleep or talk with my own wife and child. My grandfather's picture was removed from where it was given respect because my grandfather has passed away and he cannot say a word about it. In Vietnam to pay respect to the dead, the family has to put the picture of the dead person on a shelf and pray to the dead to keep them rest in peace. It was not allowed to be move unless the family is moving to another house or place. If the picture is to be remove a priest or a qualified monk was suppose to be asked to come and do the service to move the picture in respect of the dead. Yet, my aunt's mother just took it off the shelf without a word. After my uncle told my grandmother, who has moved back to Vietnam since my grandfather was buried over there, about what my aunt's mother did, and my grandmother had a talk with my aunt's mother, my aunt mother said that she will pick a day to put the picture back up. That means that is more disrespectful to the dead to make them wait more days without paying them any respect. My aunt's parents are the age of my grandmother's second child. So according to the respect the elders rule in Vietnam, my aunt's parents has to be respectful. My aunt was only the age of my second aunt's daughter. Still my aunt's mother disrespected my grandmother. My aunt is only about twenty five and my grandmother is about eighty-nine going on ninety years old. My aunt is only old enough to be my grandmother's grandchild and she told my uncle that my grandmother has to show respect and apologize to her mother, when her mother is the one at fault. Her mother did not show any respect to my dead grandfather and talked to my grandmother as an equal, which is a very disrespectful way to talk to someone who is old enough to be your mother or worst grandma. My aunt's mother is about in her mid forty and that is the age of my grandmother's oldest daughter's first son. My grandmother talked politely to both my aunt and her mother and yet my aunt said that my grandmother did not show any respect to her mother. My aunt even told my uncle if my grandmother does not show respect and apologize to her mother then they will have a divorce and he would have to pay child support. Who is at fault in this situation? I do not get why someone nice as my uncle and grandmother has to have this happen to them. How can there be a person like my aunt who backstab the person who loved her so much that let her do whatever she wants. He even gives her his whole pay check. He did not live the way Vietnamese people should live where the husband is in control the wife supposes to be respectful, polite, and nice to the husband and the husband's family. The reason why was because the wife is married into the family and the whole wedding from the dress to the place the wedding toke place to the ring on both people hand was paid by the groom's family. Pretty much all the bride has to do was to show up and say yes. The bride was brought by the groom's family. My uncle left all that tradition behind and let my aunt have her freedom and become his equal and yet, she is not happy with that. She went and stabs him in the back. Who is really at fault and can there be a way where my uncle can have his baby back since he did not do anything wrong? Does he really have to pay child support? Does he have to be separated from his first and only child that he had waited for so long? L T_T

Symposium

I went to room two hundreds to listen in on the presentation of Jessica Voyles. Before she starts she gave information about herself to the audience. She is a honor grad student here at University of Memphis. Her presentation was on "Does Prosody Facilitate Reaction in High and Low Knowledge Comprehenders". Throughout the whole presentation she talked about her research on the topic. In her research she told the group that Prosody does not affect high knowledge comprehenders but it helps the low comprehenders. At the end of her research she talked about her hypothesis. During her presentation in the front left hand corner a man was holding up flash cards telling Jessica how much time she had left. It is really hard to understand her presentation. The whole presentation was about twenty-five minutes total. Though-out Jessica's presentation of her project the audience was very quiet and some people did not seem that interested in the presentation. There are some that was there with their laptop or clipboard to write down notes from her presentation. The audience did not ask any questions at the end of Jessica's presentation so around two twenty-seven the audience started to leave the room. There was not much time for Jessica to give out that much information. Even though she did cover her research background, for an outsider having no clue on what she is talking about it is very hard to comprehend and understand her presentation. I had a friend with me to the presentation and afterwards I asked him did he understand anything that was being presented and his reply was, "I have no idea. All I know was the student was trying to present something about prosody. She did explain what that is but I still do not get her presentation. There is not enough information given to fully understand her. Her presentation was good but not very informative." This just support that the presentation was not given time to allow Jessica to fully give her full presentation with the full information that will allow other people who have not idea about the subject to understand it.

Very Confuse

I witness a very harsh beating from the parents to a 10 year old child. I have no idea what I should do. The child is someone close to me and so are the parents. The beating was very harsh but not to the point where the child has bruises or cuts. The child just has some places that are swollen like his leg and his behind. He was limping after the beating. I witness it but I cannot jump in to say anything for the child. It was very harsh. The parents beat the child with a belt, a metal stick, and a broom. After the beating I found out that the only reason why the child was getting a beating was because his parents told him to go to the mall with them but he did not want to go. He wants to stay at home with an older sibling who is an adult instead of going to the mall. Just for that reason he receives a beat down. What should I do about this situation? If I report it then the parents might get into trouble but if I do not then it might happen again, because one time one of the parents put the same child head under the water while the child was crying. Lucky at the end the parent let go and allow the child to pull his head out of the water to breath. If the child was not allow to breath then the child would have die already. I am so confuse on what should I do? Which one is the right way to solve this problem?

So Much Work So Little Time

I really do not know how I am going to deal with all of this work I have to do. I have homework with all of this paper work my mom needs me to do. How in the world am I going to be able to do all at once? Lucky most of my blog are already typed up just need to be published. Another plus for me is that I did get started on my lab report already over the weekends so now I just have to finish it, but still this is just too much paper on my desk. Stacks of homework including some that are from today that are due on Wednesday and some that are from last week that are due tomorrow; then there is another stack of paper from my mom that she needs me to do and give to her in the morning. Then there is another stack of paper that my dad needs me to help him fill out for his work. So much work and I do not know when I am going to be able to go to sleep. I hope I do not fall asleep in class tomorrow. High school work was nothing compare to all of this work from college. How I am going to manage I have no idea. I am going to keep trying though even if it means staying up until 3 or 4 in the morning, but I hope it does not get that late until I finish with everything. I am now working on like 5 different works at the same time. Hopefully I do not mix things up and type something that belongs in another paper.

Lost in a Maze

Have you ever been through a maze where you have no idea which way to go? At first you thought you knew but then you notice that most of the paths you took turn out to be dead ends. That is how my life seems to turn out to be like. Each time I thought I know what I am doing it turns out that I have no clue. I try to make things better but it turns out that it only makes things worse for me. I try my best to find a way to get out of this whole mess but it only show that the more I try the deeper I seem to be getting into the whole thing. This whole maze is giving me a headache. Instead of finding the path that will promise me a way out, I found more and more dead ends. I try using the help everyone advise me. At first the paths seems to be a promising path but once I tried it out I found that it is just another dead end. Those path works for others but it will not work for me. Maybe because I am Vietnamese that is why the paths will not work for me. Could it be because I have not reach the age or that I have pass the age to take those paths? Whatever the reasons may be I am stuck in this very maze for the rest of my life. I will never get a chance to see freedom that everyone has experience of having.

Which Choices Should I Make?

I want to be in Connection C12 again in the spring but the Biology Class is around five to six close to seven. I am ok with it but my mom is not. She does not want me to be out that late. I am eighteen. I know what I should do and what not to do. Why can't she just trust me? I am not a little girl anymore. I am a pre-adult or some may say adult now. I know that in my mother eyes I will always be her little girl but I also want to have my choices, especially in my choices of classes for college. I understand that it is the Vietnamese's tradition that female should not stay out so late at night by herself, but I also want to be an American. I want to keep the tradition but I also want to add in some of American's tradition. She has already stop me from driving just because she is afraid I might get hurt, even though I pass my driver test on my first try without mistakes. She also does not want me to hang out with my friends after school. I respect her wishes because she is my mother. My grandfather taught me that I should keep the tradition but he also believes that we cannot keep away from the American's traditions either because we are living in the country. Yet, my mother does not share the same opinion. What should I do now? I want to take Connection C12 but my mother does not want me to. Another thing is that I already talk to Dr. Sorin to have the permits for Connection in spring. I am so confuse. I do not know what to do. Which choices should I choose? If I do as my mother wish again then she will be happy but I am not comfortable, but if I do not do as my mother wants then she will be mad at me. I am totally confused and frustrated. I asked most of my friends and they told me I should do what I feel comfortable with; it is my education. I am the one who is studying not my mother. This is America not Vietnam and my mother need to deal with it. My father on the other hand, after I ask him, say just do as my mother please then the family will not be in a huge conflict. Be a good girl and let my mother have her way. She knows what is best for me. I know my mother knows what is best for me but she did not go to college and study my field or study with Connection. How can she see what an opportunity it is for me? I like to meet new faces but I am also comfortable with have some familiar faces in the classes too. L I do not know which choices is the best one.

English in Class Movie

The video was about the diversity of human skin and how we started off from Africa. The "Eve" and "Adam" that survive the Africa dessert pass along their genetic genes to the offspring. Then after a while the offspring all spread out. A few went to what is now called Asia and then a group went to what is now called Asia while the other went south. Then they slowly spread to the other four continents.

It surprised me that most of the group started off going to Asia then to the rest of the other five continents. Most of the video did not surprise me that much because it was cover in the article that was given out titled Skin Deep. In the article it cover how there is diversity in the skin and how it became that way. The information about all of us came from the same ancestors is not a surprise either. Scientists have been studying about the ancestors and our DNA knowing that we are all in some way the same. Even if our physical features does not show that we are all related in some way, our DNA still show that we have similarities.

Spices

Spices are generally believed to be first used in the Far East, mainly in China and India. The European went over to Asia to trade or buy from India. The first European explorer who sails from Europe to India around Africa was Vasco da Gama. His route made the more and more exploration and trade possible, and it also made Lisbon the center of the European spice trade. This also helped Portugal become a more important country. Vasco da Gama was also the person who made the trade more possible by forcing the Zamorin, whom are the local leaders. There are over three hundred and fifty different kinds of spices all over the world. Then there are herbs and spice blends. Spice is a dried seed, fruit, root, bark, leaf, or vegetative substance used in nutritionally insignificant quantities. Then again not all plants are like aglaophotis or tobacco. Spices are added into food for the purpose of flavor, color, or as a preservative that kills harmful bacteria or prevents the growth of bacteria. Cooking herbs and spices are additives of mostly botanical origin used in nutritionally minor quantities for flavoring or coloring. Most people thinks that anything that can help with the taste of food or prevent bacteria is a spice, but that is not true salt also help with preventing bacteria and yet it is not a spice it is a mineral. Spices are use to preserve food in an age where refrigerator is not available. They were also use to cover up the bad taste of food that has gone bad. The other reason why spice is so good is that there is no need to preserve it. "They can last for years. At first people try to preserve it but then found out that it cause cancer so they just stop doing it," said Ella Akuzwe, when she is ask about how spices are use best for. There are still many more ways to use spices like in medicine to cure people. For example, "Onion can be use to help with skin infection once you grind it up. Garlic is use to help lower sugar in the body and in the past it is use to ward off demons," said Ella Akuzwe, when she was asked on how spices were use as medicine. There are also many other plants that can be using as medicine either it are a spice or not. Like for instant, aplaophotis is a plant but not a spice and it can be use to help with fever or the way people in the past to ward off demons and witchcraft. Tobacco is also from a plant but yet it is not a spice. It is use in medicine or drugs.

My Love for you…….

The love I have for you is different

From the love I have for my mom and dad.

No matter how I was told that it is bad,

I still love you to the end of our life.

Now I am your lover then I am your wife.

You are my life, my soul, my source of joy.

You know that my heart is not a play toy.

We are like Romeo and Juliet.

Our love is beautiful like the sunset.

We will be together to the end.

No matter what you is still my boyfriend.

I do not know if I did the sign right,

But I did try to give you the best clues.

Hopefully you will not give me the blues.

My Love……

The Shakespeare Sonnet Poem

When I look into your beautiful eyes

You have taken my breath away from me.

If you leave me then I would surely die.

We were meant to be together, don't you see?

I want to see your wonderful smile now.

It is very hard for me to see your frown.

Your heartbreaking frown has always made my head bow.

When I can't see you time seems to slow down.

One day seems like weeks to me without you

But when we are together time speeds up.

Each day our love for each other really grew

So much it became much more than a cup.

How did you, my friend, affect my mind so?

Now you are my love but first you were a friend I know.

Because I Love You…

The Petrarchan Sonnet Poem

Because I care I risk everything

To see you, because of the following

You show me, our love goes this world

It also goes beyond the world's rules.

You told me that you are different from them

Different from all of whom I have seen

You come to me like an angel sent down.

You were sent down to send my hard times away.

You show me there is a place in this world,

A place where I can truly stay.

You understand that I cannot be there with you,

Not every single second of the day

Yet you are still by my side helping me,

Helping me through every day of my little life.

Depression Is Harder Then It Seems

Why should I live when I am useless? I cannot do anything right. I can never please my parents. Each time when I think about it I feel really sad. I feel like I should just let myself go. I want to leave this cruel place. I want to leave this place so much. I am useless. I am dumb. I am a bad girl. I am the worst person ever to live. All I am in this place is a bunch of matter. All I can do in this place is to take up space. Other than taking up space I cannot do anything else that is right. That is what was put into my head by my parents. They even told me that they do not know why they even gave birth to me. They told me that they rather give birth to dirt then to me. That let me know that even dirt is better than me. I just want to leave this place, but if I do that then my friends who loves me will be sad and I do not want that. I do not want my friends and some of my family members who love me to be sad when I leave. Not just that, I have been told by a close friend that he/she do not want me to leave. He/she told me that if I just let myself go then he/she will be really sad and mad at me. All of my friends are too close and such a good friends to me that I do not want them to get hurt because of me. I do not think that I am worth it. I am not worth it for anyone to be sad or hurt because of me. I rather have everyone forget about me instead of getting hurt. I rather have everyone just live on with their happy lives then to be sad, hurt, or live near a girl like me. What should I do now? I want to leave go but I cannot. If I leave there will be people who will be sad or hurt because of me. Then again if I stay people will be mad, upset, disappointed, sad, and have problems. I was told that all of this was cause by me. What should I do? What can I do? I did seek help for my problems before but still end up in the same place again. I always end up in a position where I just want to end this whole problem. All the people who try to help me get rid of my bad feelings but in the end the feelings are still there staring me in the face. What should I do? Should I just leave and get rid of this for good or should I just live on with my live now and learn to deal with it? What is the right and the best way to go?

A Fishy Story

One day, fishes were swimming with their schools and a shark that lived near them was looking for a mate. Hamlet’s Wrong Moves Creates His Awful Death

In Hamlet, Hamlet dies a tragic death. Most readers wonder what or who is the reason for Hamlet's dreadful death. Even though some people might say that the person who is at fault is Hamlet's mother, the queen, who is unfaithful to Hamlet's father, King Hamlet or King Claudius with his evil scheme has killed King Hamlet. In realization, Hamlet's action which leads to his death is based on his id, ego, and superego. Hamlet's consciousness from his ego makes him so weak that he backed out on almost all of his plans to kill King Claudius. Some readers might think that Hamlet is mad which brings a catastrophic death to his end. In reality, Hamlet's madness is a bogus. His madness is his cunning way to hide what he is really up to and what he knows. Hamlet is smarter than some readers might give him credit for, even though he is absurd in some cases where he could take action to kill King Claudius. Hamlet's id, ego, and superego cause him to be his worst enemy, because he is the one who brought his tragic death upon himself with his action.

A person's actions are all based on his/her id, ego, and superego. The id is the true wanting of a person. The id only judge a situation with the feelings of what the person wants and thinks. The super-ego is the judgments with society advice or suggestions. The ego is the combine of both the id and the superego like what Sigmund Freud suggests that "the ego looks at both the person's feelings and his/her surrounding to choose which path he/she should take "(15). This also goes for Hamlet. Hamlet looks at both what he wants to do and what other expects of him. Then he chooses which path he should take either kill Claudius at that point or just wait until the next time. Like his famous speech "To Be or Not To Be":

"To be or not to be–that is the question: whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, or to take arms against a sea of troubles and, by opposing, end them. To die, to sleep–no more–and by a sleep to say we end the heartache and the thousand natural shocks that flesh is heir to–'tis a consummation devoutly to be wished… "(123).

In this speech Hamlet is wondering should he act now and tell everyone that Claudius is the one who has murder his father or should he just wait until the next opportunity to come by. Even though the ego is the combine of both the id and the superego it is not always stable. The ego is always changing; it does not stay constant (Freud 15). The ego is a combination of both the id and the superego. It can either combine more with the id or it can combine more with the superego. It depends on which one have the most influence on the person, which in this case is Hamlet.

Hamlet is the type of person where his ego is scare, his id is weak, and his superego is not that strong enough to influence him to take action. Critic William Hazlitt agrees that Hamlet is made up of weakness and sadness, and that he is not the type to be cruel; Hamlet is the perfect example of misanthropes" (4 par. 8). Hamlet is miserable because he did not want to come back to the palace because he was enjoying himself with his studies. Critic E.K. agrees that "Hamlet is very educated and he really enjoys reading. He can read for hours without getting tired. The only reason why Hamlet return is because his father passes away" (1 par 2). If his father did not pass away Hamlet would have stay at the university and keep on studying. Once Hamlet return back to the palace he was depress that started his id going toward hatred. Hamlet's id is a combination of melancholy, detestation, and annoyance. Critic Francis Jacox added that "the ghost words bring a spark for Hamlet to have another reason to dislike Claudius even more" (4 par. 7). To add on to Hamlet's id the ghost which is the superego create Hamlet's ego. Even though his father's ghost did give him a motive to dislike Claudius but it was not that much of an influence to set Hamlet in the motion to take revenge on Claudius for his father's death. Once Hamlet's superego adds to his id then his ego turn out to be confuse and scare because even though his id does have hate, anger, and sadness combine but it is still too weak for his ego to be strong and firm. Critic Francis Jacox agrees that "Hamlet was already upset with his uncle being in his mother's room and sitting on his father's throne and the murder of his father set him on the rage to kill his uncle, but because of his mother's feelings he lets some opportunity to act pass" (4 par. 7). Hamlet is a strong person but his mind is weak with feelings for his mother. He does not want his mother to be hurt because of his action.

There is the reason of his mother feelings that keeps Hamlet from acting but that is not the only reason. According to Critic Francis Jacox "Hamlet could not bring himself to the point where he could accept that his father, King Hamlet, was murdered instead of being a 'circumstance and accident'" (3-4 par. 6). Hamlet came back to the palace for his father funeral which he was told that his father die because of a mere circumstance but once the ghost of his father comes to tell him that Claudius, with the help from his mother, has murdered King Hamlet, Hamlet could not himself to believe it. Even though Hamlet could bring himself to expose Claudius to everyone in the court of his scheme that has killed King Hamlet, because like critic E.K. Chambers points out "Hamlet is loved by his people and is in good terms with the court" (1 par. 2), but he's ego could not make a decision. Everyone in the court and the people of the kingdom loves Hamlet because they saw him grew up and they know how Hamlet is. The people know that Hamlet is a good prince and that he is the type that they can be loyal to. The only reason that Hamlet could not make a move is because his superego and his id could not make a decision.

Even though Hamlet's ego does have enough information to act but if his id could not bring itself to believe his superego then there is no way Hamlet could act. According to Sigmund Freud "The ego has limited power over the id. If something is asked of a person to the point where it is too much for that person to handle then that person will either object or be unpleased while doing the task" (108-109). Even though Hamlet does have enough information to just take revenge on Claudius for his father's death but because he does not feel like he can get a firm grip on the task to act that is why he would not act. No matter how many times opportunity comes to Hamlet for him to take actions he back away because his ego could not combine his id and superego together to the point where his ego can make a concrete decision to act. Even though it is true that "a person action leads back to his/her ego" (Freud 84), but if the ego could not make a decision because the superego is not that much of a influence and the id is sort of in the same direction with the superego but could not believe the information that the superego is giving it then the ego could not make a decision. Like Sigmund Freud says, "Sometimes ego and superego come together and superego can work against the ego of a person." With Hamlet, his superego gives him information that he could not believe that is why he could not act. Especially since Hamlet is weak mentally, the information just set him confuses.

Confusion is one of Hamlet's weaknesses but it is not the only one. Another one is that he could not trust love or people in general, because of his mother actions. His mother was unfaithful to his father which makes Hamlet believe that everyone is like that. Critic Francis Jacox agrees that "because of Hamlet's mother's action Hamlet has lost his firm standing on the human world. Her action has completed his confusion on the world." That is the reason why Hamlet decides that he would not tell everyone that Claudius is a murder who has killed his father. Hamlet has lost faith in everyone just because of the queen is not loyal to his father. Hamlet is very dependable just that he could not trust other once he sees that his mother is not that dependable either. Critic E.K. Chambers agrees that "Hamlet is the type of person who would carry-out the task given to him before he think of his own happiness. He put the task of killing Claudius before his love for Ophelia" (3 par.7). Hamlet will not tell anyone what he really found out about the actions that takes place for his father death. "The more Hamlet unveil the hidden secrete that his mother and uncle hid from everyone the more he loses his belief" (2-3 par.3). Hamlet thinks that if he tells people about what he finds out then they would betrayed him. Hamlet believes that everyone, especially the women, is untrustworthy like his mother. Hamlet does love everyone like the commandment for the bible but he makes an exception to Claudius. "The commandment to love one's neighbour as oneself" is within the superego. The commandment made people either obeying it but does make the person unsatisfied while listening to it or they just make a loop around the command" (Freud 108). Hamlet loves his people and the court just that he does not like Claudius at all because of the awful secrete. He believes that Claudius is the one that he needs to kill. Even though his mother is at fault too but because his father's ghost told him not to kill his mother and let the heaven above deal with her.

Not just that Hamlet loves his mother so he cannot even kill her. "After Hamlet talks to the ghost he was taken from everyone point of view. Once he notices the situation that he was in he lost his courage to take on the task that he was given to carry-out" (Chambers 1-2 par. 3). Hamlet discovers that his uncle and mother did kill his father but he could not bring himself to just kill his uncle. The opportunity for him to kill his uncle is right in front of him but he stills cannot carry-out the tasks. Critic Francis Jacox agrees that "Hamlet is the type of person who would reason instead of taking action 'Hamlet has no firm belief either in himself or in anything else'" (6 par. 12). He does not think that he could take on the task on some of the opportunities that was there for him. He will not take the opportunities to kill Claudius. He just takes the time of those opportunities to find a way out of it so that it. He finds a way that makes it looks like as though he have a good purpose not to act.

"Hamlet is the type of person who talked when he should have acted, and acted when he should not even have talked, who with a bosom wrung with sensibility was unfeeling, and in his very passion for justice unjust, who in his misery had leisure for ridicule and in his revenge for benevolence" (Jacox 6 par. 13)

Hamlet is the one who would just rather be in misery because he could not carry out the task that is given to him, yet he will not act no matter how many times the opportunity comes to him. Hamlet will find one way or the other to just to reasons himself out of killing Claudius. Like critic E.K. Chambers suggested that "Hamlet just tries to find any ways he can from taking action. Like when he try to tell Ophelia but end up acting as a mad man when he found out that he could not tell the truth to his beloved Ophelia" (2 par. 5). Hamlet could not even find a way to proceed with the task because he is too busy looking for ways to escape the opportunity to operate his plan to execute Claudius. Even with Ophelia he could not bring himself to tell her what is going on and why he is performing as a mad man.

Hamlet always finds a reason to cancel his opportunity. Hamlet is the type of person like critic William Hazlitt believe "'the one whose powers of action have been eaten up by thought.' He had the best resource to act but he just let it go" (1 par. 2) He plan it all out with the players to act out the scene when his father die but once that conform that what the ghost told him was true he still does not even take reason to execute Claudius. He had some many opportunities like when he could tell the whole court what answer his researches give him or the one time when Claudius is by himself and had his back to Hamlet. Hamlet cannot bring himself to kill his uncle at all he just figures out a way to just get rid of the chance. "Hamlet is the type who is strong just weak when it comes to killing his uncle who holds his mother's heart" (Hazlitt 1 par. 2). Hamlet loves his mother dearly to the point where he cannot make her sad or heartbreaking because he murders the man that she loves. He cannot bring himself to that point of being cruel to him mother. Critic E.K. Chambers agrees that "Hamlet's weakness is his mind and his feelings for his mother. He is smarts but the problem is he uses his thinking at the wrong time. He chooses to think about the time period when at the time being is for him to act" (3 par. 8). He thinks that just maybe it is not the right time for him to act. He reasons with himself to let the opportunity to just pass away.

Once Hamlet gets a chance to get rid of Claudius he finds a way to motivate himself not to take the chance. During the play readers can tell when the opportunity come Hamlet talks to himself about what he should do. Like what critic Francis Jacox notice is that "There is always a 'transaction between Hamlet himself and his moral sense' with everything he does" (5 par. 10). While there is a period of time for Hamlet to act he takes that time to converse between his id, ego, and superego. He thinks back should he take that time to kill Claudius and would the time be right for that action. He thinks to himself, is this the right opportunity to take or should he just wait. Critic Francis Jacox says that "'whatever happens to Hamlet…he applies it to himself as a mean of general reasoning.'" He thinks back on all the opportunity for him to act. Like for the one in the church Hamlet reason himself out of the process because he think that Claudius did not let his father prey for forgiveness before he die so why should he let Claudius get that opportunity to go to heaven. "'Confessedly, Hamlet is sensible of his own weakness, taxes himself with it, and tries to reason himself out of it'" (Jacox 5 par. 11). That is Hamlet main weakness. He would rather think then to act. He is the man that thinks too much. He even notices his own weakness and yet he fell to overcome his weakness to proceed with his task. Critic E.K. Chambers also believes that Hamlet is "covering his weakness with unreal reasons" (2-3 par. 6). Instead of taking his weakness by the head he let his weakness get the best of him. He let his weakness allow him to reasons himself out of every opportunity he gets. He is not a man of action at all; he is a man of thoughts. Critic William Hazlitt agree that "'Hamlet's ruling passion is to think, not to act; and any vague pretext that flatters this propensity instantly diverts him from his previous purposes.' He can get himself distracted easily even with one distraction" (2 par. 6). Once he reaches his opportunity he thinks of how his action can be wrong so he just brush it away.

Every occasion he can get he let it exceed him. He rather have the occasion pass then to take the chance. Critic William Hazlitt believes that "Hamlet is the type who could not reach his goal because his mind keeps on changing. Hamlet has all the resources and the opportunity but he just crosses it all out and let it go because he knows his weakness" (2 par. 5). He knows that he cannot proceed with his plan that is why he just let all the opportunity pass him one by one. Once that keeps on Hamlet cannot complete his task unless he take the opportunity and forget his weakness. "Hamlet is not a character of action or passion. He is a character of refinement of thought and sentiment" (2 par. 4). He is the one most people will see thinking everything deals over instead of taking action when the opportunity is given. He is the type that most people sees losing the battle because he over think the situation. If he takes every opportunity that he has like he did with the way he took with Polonius and the letter that was sent with him to England to be execute then everything will be fine but unfortunately that was not the case. He just keeps up with his performance of madness.

Some readers think that Hamlet's performance is real and that is why he receives a tragic end. Truthfully speaking, Hamlet madness is a fake. According to Sigmund Freud, "Human beings have to go through either one of these stages in life: misery, misfortune, and/or unreasonable assignment" (23-24). Hamlet is going through all three of these stages at once. Hamlet is feeling misery because he cannot study at the university, misfortune because his father pass away and the one who murdered his father is his uncle and his mother helped, and unreasonable assignment, to Hamlet, is to take revenge on his uncle for his father's death. Sigmund Freud also stated that "there are three actions that one can choose to take to make one's life easier; think the best of the worst, solve the problem, or just plain ignore it all together" (23-24). The reader can tell that Hamlet cannot do neither think the best or it nor can he just ignore it, so Hamlet went with solve the problem so he think of a way to solve it but he also think of a way where he will not make Claudius suspicious of him. To solve that problem he acts like as though he is mad. "Hamlet did not want anyone else to know about the truth other than those who already knew" (Chambers 2 par. 3). Hamlet does not want to create chaos within the kingdom so he creates chaos within himself by acting mad. "No one understands him. Hamlet is in the world of his own. No one knows the information that he has discovered" (Chambers 2 par. 4), even if he did tell everyone the truth about his father death no one will believe him because of his acting. They will not be sure if he is in his right mind to be saying that his father was murder. Critic E.K. Chambers point out that "'Shakespeare did not mean for Hamlet to be mad in any sense which would put his actions in a quite different category from those of other men.' Hamlet is not mad; he just fails to act when he should act" (1 par. 1). Hamlet is not what he acts to be; he is just a coward to afraid to act. Shakespeare did not mean for Hamlet to be a mad man. He just wants Hamlet to be acting mad not a real mad man. "Madness is a flower of evil" (Atrens 1 par. 1). Madness is a form of evil. This just adds to the reason that Hamlet is not truly mad because as the reader can tell Hamlet is a good and very educated man. "Madness is what people would combine with witchcraft so people try to reject it all together" (Atrens 1 par. 1). During Hamlet's time people view madness as bad so they did not want to deal with Hamlet when he acted as though he is truly mad.

Everything a person does refer back to their id, ego, and superego. "'Ids and egos have been largely displaced by neurochemical concepts.' People try to explain Madness with science but most people just think that it is just an excuse to act badly" (Atrens 1 par. 2). Ids and egos theory made it difficult for people to believe neurochemical concepts. Scientists try to explain madness with science but it is impossible. "There are a bunch of brain factors that have been implicated in madness could produce the symptoms of madness. But no one can prove that this is true" (Atrens 1 par. 4). Madness is not an easy thing to define and understand how it comes to be. There is no way to prove that a person brain have been impacted to the point where they just go mad. "People believed that when a person behave badly mean that they are mad. Protestations of sanity are often considered evidence that a person is mad" (Atrens 2 par. 9) but that has not been proven to be true yet. A person can behave badly but that does not truly mean that they are mad. They could be going through something or it could be that they just feel like they want it that way. "People will not think that other people can be going through tough time or have problems but they just jump to conclusion that person is mad. It is a weird thing for people to have diseases in the brain to cause them to act a certain way" (Atrens 3 par. 17) People do not take the time to think that for a person to be acting a certain way could be because they are having problems with at home, school, or at work. People do not stop and think about how mysterious it is for a person to act a certain way because of a brain disease. "Madness is very hard for people centuries ago to understand and it is still going on now. Scientists are still trying to categorize madness" (Atrens 3 par. 13). Madness is so hard to understand and to figure out that scientists are still trying to figure it out for centuries and still going on now. They still have not found the right way to explain how madness comes to be and how it is function.

Hamlet tragic is not because of his madness. Hamlet does not have a problem with his brain. Hamlet is in depression but that does not mean he is mad because of the depression. Hamlet may have let plenty of the opportunity goes by but that does not mean he is mad. Hamlet act as though he is mad for a reason like Sigmund Freud say, "One's own feelings could not guide one down a path; one must have had a spark to put the influence in one's way" (85). A person could not just decide to take a path without influence from the superego. There is either a person's action or words can make a person decide to do certain action. For Hamlet, it was the queen, the queen is unfaithful that is why Hamlet acted as a mad man. Sigmund Freud agrees that "sometimes the motive for one to act depends on one's helplessness and dependence on another" (85). Hamlet depends on his mother actions to judge everyone else and because of that Hamlet does not trust anyone so he acts as a mad man.

Even though Hamlet does let a great deal of opportunity pass, just before his tragic death he does one thing that show that he can let go of his weakness and take action. Freud has mentions that, "the ego includes both the id and the superego and later on it can leaves off the surrounding environment of the person" (15). The reader can see this happen to Hamlet at the end of the play after Laertes stab him with the sword that King Claudius poison in order to kill Hamlet permanently. "Before Hamlet dies he actually acts without thinking or reasoning. He actually carried-out the task and did a noble thing by stopping Horatio from dying and save his country" (Jacox 7 par. 16). Hamlet saves Horatio from dying and also pass on words from him to Fortinbras and the ambassador from England that Fortinbras is free to take the kingdom and that there will be no war to fight. Critic E.K. Chambers point out that "Hamlet's tragedy is the ruin of a great person because he did not have the courage to act" (3 par. 7). Hamlet is a great prince and son. The only flaws that he have that cause his tragic death are his id, ego, and superego could not make a decision and another is that he is too weak to act earlier in the play.

Hamlet is his own great enemy because he did not take the opportunities given to him to proceed with his plan. He just finds ways to reason himself out of all the opportunities. His id, ego, and superego makes him confuse and weak. His reasoning is his way to hide the true reason why he cannot kill Claudius, which is his weakness. Hamlet tragic death is not because of madness. Madness is only an act and it is not true. Hamlet is a smart, very educated, and a good person. His flaws that cause his tragic death are his weakness, reasoning, and confuse id, ego, and superego.

Time to Just Forget and Move On

This is based on a true story. This is not the complete story.

"Should I just leave and never look back or should I turn back around and do as I was told?" thought Ivy. Ivy was at the front door of her house with a suitcase in hand. Her father has just passed away two days ago, and yesterday she found her mother with another man in the bed. She is now nineteen years old and she have a full ride to Georgetown University. At first she thought of how her mother would be very devastated so she could not leave her mother. Then all of a sudden yesterday she found her mother with another man, so now she have other thoughts. Her mother asked her not to leave and that she should stay, but she thought that if she stays here then her mother will be hurt more than when her father dies. She could not believe that her mother was like that. In her heart she loved her mother but her mother actions made her feel like she can never forgive her mother for being with another man right after her father has just passed away. She thought to herself that her father had never did anything wrong to her mother so why did her mother move on with another man. The thought just made her even angrier so she stops thinking about it. "That is it since my mother did move on with her life. I think it is best if I move on now too. If I stay here I will see that man with my mother again. If I leave then my love for my mother will not change. Even though my thoughts about my mother did change but at least my love for her is not that damage yet," Ivy thought to herself as tears ran down her face. "I just need to forget and move on with my life the way my mother had. My father would want me to do that. If I stay here I will hate my mother even more," thought Ivy as she put her suitcase into her car. She planned on going to Washington D.C. instead of listening to her mother. If she did listen to her mother and stay there then later on she will hurt her mother and herself. She rather let her mother be sad and sooner or later her mother will be ok. She did not want to risk staying here then later on hurt her mother and herself to a point where the both of them will never want to see the other person. She cannot let herself make that damage on her mother. She just has to forget what she saw yesterday and move on. She left the house with only a note in her mother's room telling her mother that she was leaving and she will not come back. She head toward the highway toward Washington D.C. where her god aunt is waiting to greet her.

Tell or Not to Tell

When I was younger I use to tell my mother almost everything, but now that I am older I start to keep information to myself. Now there is a problem that I am having but I cannot tell my mother. The reason why is because now my mother and I do not have that close connection anymore. I do not think she will understand what I am going through. In the ninth grade I have a teacher who is very close to me who I can talk to, because she is easy to talk to. Now that I am in college I find it harder to open up to any adults. Well that is not completely true, I do have a professor right now that I can see myself open up to her; it's just that I am not sure am I willing to open up to her yet. I use to talk to a very close friend of mine who is like a sister to me but now it is harder for me to talk to her, because we are not in the same college and I am not allow to call any friends. She knows almost everything about me and that go the same for me about her. My mother told me that I should not trust anyone, because you will never know when they will turn their backs on you. For that reason she will not let me talk to my friends outside of school or hang out with them. The thing with me is that I do not truly believe that. In my opinion not everyone is like that. There is a mixture of good and bad people in the world. In every good person there is a bad side, but that also go for the bad. In every bad person there is a good side, so you cannot just judge the whole world because of a group of people. I love and always turn to my mother for advice; it's just that not all of her opinion is the same as mine. Like the way she view everyone on Earth and her view on some other stuff. Like one time almost about five adults told my mother that she needs to be a little bit less overprotective, but she will not listen. In front of them she act like she will listen to their advice, but as soon they turn their backs she say they do not know what they are talking about. Those five adults were some teachers, a policewoman, and a counselor. My mother made it very hard for my siblings and me to talk to her when we have problems. Now I am wondering should I tell her about my problem or should I just go and find someone else to talk to?

Evaluation on DNA Databases

This article was about how the discovery, on September tenth of nineteen eighty-four in Britain by a British scientist Alec Jeffreys, found out that members of a family have different DNA but also have some similarities between the parents and the child. Each person's DNA is unique but there are still similarities between family members in certain area, except identical twins whom are sharing the same DNA. DNA does not tell race but it show information that is very useful to the police if they are finding a certain person. This discovery was found with the help of the information within the police's files, the Britain's DNA databases.

The British policemen or women collected DNA sample from any criminal they captured and collected it into the database no matter if they were guilty or not. The FBI of the United States has the world largest DNA databases and it was set up in 1995 and holds about eight percent of the United States' population which would be about around twenty-four millions people. The data was use to either catch a criminal or to find relatives. The DNA has helped "solved seventeen thousands crimes in Britain including eighty-three killings and a hundred and eighty four rapes" (Lawless ppo. 1 par. 7). Yet, even though FBI has plenty of DNA data they are still expanding the databases by collecting more and more DNA from criminals they had caught and innocent people whom they thought were criminals. The information that was six point seven million profiles will now be expected to grow more to about one point two million or more by two thousand and twelve. This mean there will be more and more invasion into other people's privacy. People in the twenty first centuries are trying to protect their private information and identities. Yet, people, who are arrested no matter if they have committed a crime or not, DNAs are being collected by the FBI without their permission.

In Britain, even children at the age of ten also have their DNA recorded into the databases. This is invading into the personal information of other people but it also helped the police find the true criminals to the crime and found lost family members. To some people this was a way to invading the privacy of other and it is wrong, but within the scientist and some other people this was a brilliant discovery to help policemen and women find the criminal and lost family members. Jeffreys fears that police will use the information to brand innocent people or future criminals. "Jeffreys, 59, said about 800,000 innocent people are on the database, raising fears of 'discrimination, breach of genetic privacy, stigmatization - there's a whole host of issues here"' (Lawless ppo. 1 par. 5).

Women who were rap found the criminal by the DNA left behind by the culprit. Killing crimes solved by the DNA found at the crime scene. Family members lost but found thanks to the DNA information from the family members. That is the good side but the bad side of collecting DNA samples is also like collecting the person's identity and personal information, like who are their family members and other personal information usually doctor will know after a check-up. The main lesson was that collecting data can help so much like solving crime and finding lost members but it is also our personal information that is being collected for research or files that can be looked up anytime.

New Story but also Old

This is a story I wrote last year in AP English class. This story is about how I think the afterlife of Edna and Macbeth will be and how they will meet even though they are from different story or play. Hope you enjoy!

Edna wakes up and finds herself in a beautiful field next to a creek. She notices that at the end of the field is a bright light. The creek seems to be flowing towards the light. Edna gets up and starts to follow the creek towards the light. She does not know why but the light seems very welcoming to her.

On the other side of the field, in the forest, Lady Macbeth starts to get up. She notices that there are trees surrounding her in the darkness. There is some light up ahead, and she begins to approach it. She does not want to be in the dark anymore. As she emerges from the forest, she sees a beautiful field and just a few yards away is a bright light. The bright light seems to be welcoming her to it.

As the two ladies walk toward the light they do not know that they will end up meeting each other, nor did they know that they are being judged to see whether will they end up going to the glorious heaven above or will they end up going to the infernal abyss.

Once Edna is in the light she sees another lady there with her. This lady does not look like any women she knows. This lady has on a dress is ancient but of excellent quality and she seems like she has been running.

When Lady Macbeth finally reaches the light she also sees another lady there and is looking at her. This lady looks different. She does not look royal or anything. Her dress is ok but it is nothing that Lady Macbeth ever seen. The dress is flowing like a nightgown but instead of being white it has a yellowish color in it and designs of flowers on it.

After observing the lady Edna walks up to her to introduce herself.

Edna: Hello. My name is Edna. What is your name?

Lady Macbeth: I am called Lady Macbeth. What garment is this thou are wearing?

Edna is surprised with the language that this lady is using, but to be polite she answer the lady strange question.

Edna: Do you mean my dress?

Lady Macbeth: Yes, thou garment is weird it is neither of royalty nor of any peasant I know. Where art thou from?

Again Edna is surprised with the way this Lady Macbeth carries herself and the statement she use.

Edna: Well, I am from New Orleans. This is the type of dress that is worn by ladies from where I live. Where are you from?

Lady Macbeth does not like the way this Edna is addressing her. She is, after all, Lady Macbeth and this lady is not of royalty, but she answers the lady question anyway.

Lady Macbeth: I am from King Duncan's kingdom where my (aside: unmanly) husband is the Thane of Cawdor.

Edna: You are from a kingdom?

Lady Macbeth: Yes, why are thou so surprise? Have thou never heard nor seen a kingdom before?

Edna: No, because where I am from there is no king or queen so there is no kingdom.

Lady Macbeth is surprised with the words that are coming from Edna. (Lady Macbeth thinks to herself)

Lady Macbeth: What nonsense is this girl telling me? No kingdom? What world is this?

While this is going on an angel sent by God to announce his judgment for these two women has just arrived with God's words.

(Angel enters)

Angel: Lady Macbeth wife of Macbeth.

Lady Macbeth and Edna both look up at the source of the sound and find that an angel is looking at them.

Angel: By God's words you tempted your husband to kill the innocent lives of other and you even commit suicide. You took control over your husband most of the time and you did not appreciate God for creating you as a woman. You took control to be a man. You have destroyed God's creation and you show no appreciation to God. For that you are to be sent to the Devil for all eternity in the third ring. Edna Pontellier wife of Leonce Pontellier.

Edna looks up with horror. She is afraid to hear what she will be given. In the background, Lady Macbeth is crying. She is really upset with her punishment that is given to her.

Angel: You did not do your duty as a mother to your children nor did you do your duty as a wife to your husband. You left them to live on your own and have a fling with Robert. Then afterwards you commit suicide. You, too, did not show appreciation to God's creation. You are to be sent to the third ring of hell for eternity also.

The next thing Edna and Lady Macbeth know, they sees a flash of lights and the ground underneath them open up and swallow them. The next thing is that they hear screaming all around.

Everyone: (scream)

They also smell something horrible. There is a smell of feces and something burning. Then they hit the ground and there is something raining on them and it is not water. They notice it is feces raining on them.

Lady Macbeth: No, I did not mean to do it. No…………………………….!

Edna could not say anything. She is too shock and upset. While Lady Macbeth and Edna run from the feces, which are impossible because it is everywhere, they try to comfort each other but Edna is the one who is doing the comforting the most.

Edna: Lady Macbeth please stops crying. We will have to deal with this for eternity. Please stop.

Lady Macbeth: No, I do not want this.

To get Lady Macbeth's mind away from all of this Edna asks her some questions.

Edna: Uhm…….Lady Macbeth. I heard the angel say that you tempted your husband to kill so what did you do?

Lady Macbeth: Macbeth is too weak. He wants to be king yet he will not take the action to be king. So I came up with a plan to kill King Duncan. Then he took it on his own from that point on to kill the other people. He is not a good hider so I have to step in to help him from revealing the truth of his doing.

After hearing Lady Macbeth's story, Edna is shock of what this lady next to her is capable of doing.

Edna: After that you commit suicide?

Lady Macbeth: Each night I go to sleep and I keep seeing the people that Macbeth has killed. I also see blood on my hands. King Duncan's blood is all over my hands. The old man has a lot of blood. I cannot wash off the blood not can I get rid of the blood scent. I could not stand it anymore so I just have to leave.

Edna is really shock hearing Lady Macbeth's story. Then Lady Macbeth asks Edna some questions.

Lady Macbeth: I have told thou my story so what are thou reason to leave? What happen to thou husband and children? What is this about Sir Robert?

Edna: I feel like I do not have anything else or anybody since Robert left me. In order for me to get my happiness back I went to the beach that I met Robert. It is the place that I swim for the first time. It also holds all the memories that Robert and I share. I start to swim out into the ocean and did not stop. Even though I was tired I just kept on swimming until my life flash in front of me. I still love him and I will remember him for eternity.

(Lady Macbeth stares at Edna and say to her.)

Lady Macbeth: Thou leave because of a man not loving thou?

Lady Macbeth is shock. She cannot understand this lady. As they spend their eternity together Edna and Lady Macbeth get to know each other more and more. At first they did not understand each other and why the other did what they did before their suicidal death. As the years past and they gets to understand each other more they understand why the other did those actions.

A Poem about a Bird

This poem is about a bird but it also has another message.

The Little Bird

The little bird always loves his house.

No matter how far away the little bird flies,

His love for his house always makes him want to go back.

He always goes back to his house where his heart is being held.

The little bird needs his house so that he would be complete.

His house is a part of him, without his house he could not be happy.

His house is a shelter for his heart.

His house is always there for him,

Even though no one or non-thing else wants him,

The house stills want the little bird.

An Adopted Child Unfortunate Life

This is a true story just the people name is changed to keep the people's identity safe.

Once there was a Vietnamese lady name Nini was born in United States. She has lost all of her family members at the age of thirteen. She was adopted by a man named Hung Ho who came from Vietnam. At first she thought that her adopted family was great to her and that they love her, but once she turned fifteen she found out that they were just using her in order to gain money. Once she turned fifteen her adopted family planned on taken her to Vietnam. They told her that they wanted her to go back to Vietnam with them so that she could see where her true blood came from. They told her that they wanted her to get to know her true culture. She trusted them so she did not think that they had other plans for her once she got there. On the day of the flight she was all happy and did not know that was her last time of having her freedom in her hands.

Once she got to Vietnam she was so happy to be at a new place with her adopted family. She did not know that they planned to use her in a way that she would never forget. For the first couple of weeks her family acted like as though they were just on vacation. After that couple of weeks they started their real plan on why they took her over to Vietnam. First they told her that they wanted her to go with this man who would show her around to all the fun places in Vietnam. She asked them how come they were not going with her to all of these fun places that the man would take her. They told her that they have to get some other stuff done and by the time they get done it would be too late for them to take her to all of these wonderful places. When she heard their explanation she nodded and followed their directions for her.

At first the man was very nice to her. He took her to the beach, restaurants, and other beautiful places so that she can enjoy herself. She thought that this man was a very good man and that he had no children so that is why he wanted to take her to all of these places so that he could feel how it is to have children. She was so wrong the man have other plan on his mind that her adopted family had promise him in return for his money. After she had all the fun she asked the man to take her home. The man told her that he would but first she has to go with him to this place first. She asked the man where they were going and the man answered her that she will find out once they got there and that it would be a lot of fun. After a while the man stopped in front of a house. They got out of the car and the man walk her to the house. He opened the door and told her to go on in.

Inside the house the man walked her to a dark room and told her to sit down. She could not see what was going on but she did know that whatever she was sitting on was very comfy. Then the man gave her a cup to drink. He told her to drink it up and that the drink will keep her warm because the night here in Vietnam is very cold. She listened to him and she drank the drink up. Once she drank it up she felt very sleepy and she told the man that she wanted to go to sleep. The man told her that she could sleep there at that place and tomorrow morning he would take her home. She nodded and then she lay down to sleep.

The next morning she felt very weird, tired, and sore all over. She found herself on a bed in the house that the man took her to last night. She looked around for the man who took her to the place. She then found him in the kitchen cooking some food. She asked the man how come she felt so weird, tired and sore all over. The man replied to her that it was because she went to all those places yesterday and had so much fun. That is the reason why she felt that way. She then asked the man when he would take her home. The man replied to her that after they eat he would take her home.

Once she got home her family asked the man how everything went the man told them that it went very well and that they had fun yesterday. After the man left her god-brother, who is very close to her then anyone in the family, looked at her and asked her what she and that man did yesterday. She told her god-brother about all the places that she have went with that man and how after she drank the drink the man gave her she fell right to sleep. She also told her god-brother how she woke up in the morning and felt very weird, tired, and sore all over. Her god-brother started to look very sad and he seemed as though he was going to cry. Nini asked her god-brother why did he looked so sad, but he just shook his head and asked Nini did she wanted to leave this family and come live with him. Her god-brother was eighteen years old so he was old enough to go live on his own. She told him that the family loved her and that she was happy with them. Her god-brother had sorrow in his eyes when he heard her say that. He told her that if she ever felt like she wanted to leave she could just call him and he would come running to her to get her. He then collected his items and gave her his cell phone number he told her not to tell anyone what he told her. He also told her that she needed to keep his number close by her in a safe place where no one will find it.

After a few months later Nini started to feel funny, something did not felt right to her. She started to eat more, sleep more, tired easily, and her stomach was growing very round. She knew that that was not normal for a girl her age so she went to the doctor to find out what was going on with her. When she went to the doctor the doctor told her that she was a few months pregnant. She could not believe her ears to what the doctor was saying. She asked the doctor was he sure; certainly there must be a mistake. The doctor told her that he was very sure of it. She told the doctor that she had never done anything to be pregnant so how can she be a few months pregnant. The doctor asked her have she ever sleep with a man before and she was like no. She told the doctor that to her knowledge she had never sleep in the same bed with a man before. Doctor told her that he is not sure how she could be pregnant if she had never slept with a man before but he do know that she was a few months pregnant. The doctor then ask her do she want to keep the baby now or do she want to wait for a while until she made a decision. She told the doctor that she needed to find out why she was pregnant first and then she would make a decision.

After she left the doctor office she called her god-brother up and told him what she had just found out. Her god-brother told her to wait for him wherever she was and that he would come to get her. A few minutes later her god-brother came up to her and took her to a café to talk. When they got to the café her god-brother told her everything he knew, from when her god-father, which is his father, adopted her until he moved out. After Nini heard that she started crying. She could not believe that her family who she trusted was doing that to her. Her god-brother then asked her what did she had plan on doing. She told him that the first thing she wanted was to get out of that family and the next thing was that she had to go a find out that man who had gotten her pregnant. Her god-brother nodded and agreed to assist her to find that man.

After they found the man, Nini told him that he had gotten her pregnant. The man told her that she was just his one night stand and that he had nothing to do with her baby. He told her that he had already paid her family for the one night thing with her and that she needed to leave him alone. Nini started crying after the man slammed the door into her face. She did not know what to do now that she was pregnant and she had nowhere to go. She then walked toward the bridge and planned on jumping down to killed herself, but her god-brother stopped her. He told her that she could come with him and that he would take care of her. He also told her that if she wanted to keep that baby of her he would take care of the baby too as though it was his own. Nini asked him was he sure of this and he told her that he was very sure before he told her. He even told her how they would get married in private and how he would tell everyone that they had been married for a long time just that she wanted to stay with his parents to repay them for taken her in.

Now in the present time she lives with her god-brother who is now her husband, two of their own children, and one of her child. Her husband treated every single one of the children equal as though all three of the children are his and Nini. He had let go all of Nini's past and loves her very much as though she was a virgin when she married him.

Which Way is the Right Way to Go?

I love my family dearly and I am thankful to have them, but, like every family, mine is not perfect. There are problems that are causing me to choose a path that will either cause me to be disowned or I can stay with my family and suffer through depression. I am the oldest in the family so everyone expects me to be good at everything. I try to live up to those expectations but as I get older the more pressure it seems to bring on me. That is just one of the small problems. The next one is that my mother has anger management problems that are getting worst by day. Each night and every morning she has to yell at someone and that someone is me. For instance, Saturday's night I was doing my homework on my laptop and she came into my room and yelled at me. She said, "You have Monday through Friday to do all of that work. Saturday and Sunday is for house work and cleaning. If you cannot do that then drop-out of school!" I try to explain to her that there are a lot of homework for me and plus some work is due on Sunday. I even got a Quiz on Monday so I also need my weekends for school work. Like always, she does not want to hear what I have to say. She told me not to back talk to her every time I try to explain and if I continue to explain I will get slap. Another one of the problems is I am always stuck in the house even now that I am eighteen I am not allow to go anywhere other than school then straight home. I am not allowed to hang out with friends or go anywhere. Now I have two choices to choose from. One is to move out of the house and was told that if I do that I will be disowned by my mother. She even told me that once I am disowned I am never to come near the house. I will not be able to find my family anymore. She told me that once I leave she will move the family into a new home far away so that I will not find them. My second choice is to stay with the family and suffer through depression, which I have been suffering ever since ninth grade. Lucky I have not died from depression yet but it is only a matter of time for it to happen. There is only a certain amount of pressure a person can handle to survive. I have been having this pressure ever since first grade but it has gotten worst in the ninth grade. Which path is the right one to choose from?

Observation II

Elliot and Bobby were having a conversation about Charles Darwin at the beginning. Elliot has not read the book but Bobby did. Bobby seemed to be interviewing Elliot. They seemed to be uncomfortable. There was some tension in the conversation. Bobby seemed nervous. They went from the book to sports to jobs. A very moderate tone was use throughout the whole conversation. They ran out of topic to talk about after a while. They were talking about park rides and trips. They went on talking about Chemistry. They seemed to dislike chemistry. Bobby does not have any interest in lab.

They seemed to be very bored. They wanted to get their conversation over with as soon as possible. Soon the rest of the class was getting bored and started making noise or joined in. Some classmates talked about the way Elliot and Bobby's body languages show how they were feeling. Again Elliot and Bobby were back into their conversation with each other. They were talking about paint balls. Elliot talked about how he has been fired or lost his jobs before. Afterwards they were directed on how their conversation should go. They were talking about their favorite song.

They do not seem to have anything in common. Bobby had some dogs and their names were Buddy, Shelby, and Skilled but Skilled die. Then they switched their conversation about Ireland's drinking and soccer. Bobby did not learn how to do yoga nor did he like it. Bobby thought that the conversation was getting awkward. Then they went on talking about llamas. When llamas were brought up Bobby thought of Alpaca or South America. Bobby was a little mad about how the conversation was changing too fast. Their last conversation was about donuts. That was also the one they had in common. They both liked chocolate donuts. Elliot said that tourist do not liked donuts. The whole conversation was very weird and both Bobby and Elliot seemed uncomfortable.

Observation I

During class I observe the story and it seems like the kid did not really care what his mother is talking about. His mother seems like she was nagging over little things like eating fish. She gave him all sort of information on how healthy it was to eat fish. She told him how healthy people and country eat fish. Then she talked about how he should worry about how high his mercury is. Throughout the whole conversation the boy was talking very dull and boring seemed to not really care about the information his mother was telling him. He seemed to have this exact conversation with his mother many times before.

While I was at home I observe the story again and my observation of the story seemed to be the same as it was in class but just a little different in the way I see how the show is mocking how teens now days have conversation with their parents about the same topic over and over again. Their parents seem to not really care or remember what their children want and dislike. This is just like the mother in the story. She seemed to have this conversation with her son over and over and yet she did not remember that he does not like fish.

Both of my observation was not that much different other than I went more in depth. I understand a little bit more on the meaning of the story and the way the two characters talked and acted. Other than that there were not many differences between the two observations. Both of the observation just told me that the two characters had this conversation before. The boy did not give his full attention to his mother words. The mother did not remember what her son like and dislike not matter how many times he told her. The mother just kept on nagging over and over on the topic of how he should eat fish.
